
Building Access Services (BAS) is a unit within Facilities Planning and Management Department that provides keys and building access to university faculty, staff and students. Key and building access can be requested university buildings, except for Ames Lab and Residence.
All keys remain the property of the university and if found, must be returned to Facilities Planning and Management for appropriate clearance.
Building Access Services accept key orders via the FP&M Key Request form and Building Access to be applied to a card via the Access Card Request form. Requests are done from designated Department Key or Card Coordinator. Departments or individuals can pick up keys from Building Access Services, located in 108 General Services Building by presenting a signed and approved FP&M Key Request Signature Sheet.
Miscellaneous keys can be requested on line using the Key Request form. A $5.00 fee will be assessed for each miscellaneous key requested. Miscellaneous keys are identified as desk, file, cabinet, padlock, panel, or farm, etc.
