Iowa State officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 AM Friday, May 31, to inaugurate the university's new visitor information booth. The booth is located on the east side of Elwood Drive, southeast of Hilton Coliseum.
The booth is designed to provide a more friendly and efficient way for visitors to obtain information about Iowa State. It features a drive-up window as well as a walk-in entrance. The booth, staffed by retired ISU faculty and staff, includes campus and community information. Currently some retiree's well known to FP&M are staffing the information booth, Norm Kruse, Wilma Conard, and Ina Couture.
"We are delighted to have this booth up and running," said President Martin Jischke at the dedication ceremony. "It will be a first point of contact for our visitors and it will help them find their way into our university as well as help them learn about the campus."
Hours for the booth currently are from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM weekdays. The booth also will be open for some special events.
