Iowa State University Flight Service offers air transportation to any airport in the continental United States served by airlines plus thousands of airports utilized by general aviation aircraft. If you have a destination in mind, there is probably an FAA-approved airport nearby. Large cities such as Chicago and St. Louis have a selection of municipal airports from which to choose. In most cases they are more conveniently located than the airport served by the airlines. Many small towns such as Cherokee, Iowa, have very good airports.
A twin engine turbo prop airplane, equipped and maintained to airline and charter service standards, is flown by experienced professional pilots.
