AFFECTED BLDG(S): List building/s affected

COORDINATOR: Energy Conservation at energy@iastate.edu

We have already saved $545,537 in energy costs in FY04.

This month your building is one of our "energy heroes".

You can find out more at our energy web page: http://www.fpm.iastate.edu/utilities/energyefficiency/

We currently monitor 44 buildings for energy use. Electricity is the utility that tells us the most about how people are conserving in a building because those are things that individuals can control. Electricity tells us how hard people are working to "make a difference" on our energy bills. We have some good news from our August meter readings - Of our 44 benchmark buildings, 33 used less electricity in August 2003 than a typical August and only 11 used more electricity. Thanks.

Occupants of Howe Hall, Memorial Union, Design College, Sweeney, Town Engineering, Agronomy, and Scheman : These fully metered benchmark buildings collectively saved $343,488 in FY03. These same buildings have already saved $70,541 in FY04.

Occupants of Black, Carver, Catt, Communications, Coover, Food Science, Forker, MacKay, Palmer, Park Library, Ross and Student Services: These buildings used at least 15 percent less electricity in August 2003 as compared to their August benchmark electric bill.

Occupants of Black, Coover, Food Science, Jacobson/Olsen, Lied: These buildings have each already saved at least $1,000 on their electric bills this fiscal year.

Do you have an "energy hero" in your area? If so let us know.
