We are a service organization comprised of approximately 440 full-time employees (including trades, support, and P&S staff). FP&M employs an average of 100 students throughout the year, peaking at nearly 200 during the summer months. Our full-time employees include accountants, arborists, architects, area mechanics, boiler operators, carpenters, clerks, computer technicians, custodians, drafters, electricians, engineers, equipment operators, groundskeepers, interior designers, laborers, landscape architects, locksmiths, mechanics, painters, planners, plumbers, secretaries, system control technicians, tree trimmers, etc. Although our skills are very diverse, we all have the same objective, to serve the university community.
Our goal is to support the university's mission of teaching, research, and outreach. FP&M is on a "Quest to Become the Best" journey by developing into a world class organization.
FP&M strives to provide the university community with a safe, comfortable, and usable physical environment. The term "facilities" refers to all the buildings, grounds, walks, drives, parking lots, and utility systems belonging to the university. FP&M consists of the following divisions: Business Services, Facilities Planning, Facilities Services, Support Services, and Utilities Services.
FP&M is located in the General Services Building on the east side of campus (corner of Wallace Road and Osborn Drive), near the Power Plant. The General Services Building houses FP&M and Central Stores departments.
