6/30/2008 - 7/1/2008 lost header pressure at start of shift (10:30p.m.). shut main feed valves for moly-bio, Carver, and WOI. At this time pressure slowly returning. Action plan is to leave valves shut until morning when leak can be located.
1/31/2008 - 3/26/2008 Please check all buildings and equipment for any possibility of a chilled water leak. On January 29,2008 at approx. 5AM we started making up about 4.5 gallons per minute. There may a link to the make-up in the system due to the upset of the chilled water system with the chillers going down. With the upset there is a possibility of some discharge in the system or buildings. If you could all check your buildings and systems It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your cooperation in this event. Rick Pervier Chief Operator Heating Plant
1/30/2008 - 1/30/2008 There is no chilled water leak at this time: this is an information notifier. This morming at approx 7:00 AM we lost a chiller and are in the process of putting a chiller back into service. There may some fluxation of chilled water temps until we get the system back on line. The chiller should be back into sevice soon. I am sorry for any inconvenience that may occur. Rick Pervier Chief Operator Heating Plant 294-4926
1/29/2008 - 1/29/2008 At about 5 AM the chilled water pump tripped at the Power Plant, upsetting the chilled water system. A pump was started to restore the CW delta P. At 9:20 am the chiller was restarted to bring the CW temp down to normal values. Thanks, --Pat
1/29/2008 - 1/29/2008 Test
11/30/2007 - 12/26/2007 There is not a leak. Please check all of your systems and make sure we are in winter mode of operation. We are operating the electric chiller and the chilled water flow to campus is nearly 1000 gpm more than it was last winter. I have called the main contacts earlier this week. We appreciate your assistance. Mike
9/26/2007 - 11/1/2007 Attention: We are noticing a change in the chilled water make-up. At approximately 10:30 P.M. 9-25-2006 the chilled water make-up started to pick up flow. The city water pressure used for make-up was approx 70 psi( we used 75 psi on system ) the operator went to the service water which runs approx 110 psi and the chilled water make-up went to 75 but it took 3-4 gallons per minute to maintain the pressure. Please check all buildings to insure that a leak has not developed. Thanks Rick Pervier Chief Operator Heating Plant
3/28/2007 - 4/5/2007 After the start of filling buildings on 3/26/07 make-up usage has been up Please check builds for leaks or open drains
3/15/2007 - 3/15/2007 At 7:15 the chilled water makeup went up to 35 gpm, header supply pressure was dropping. Contacted Mechanical Distribution to report the incident. Mechanical Distribution was not in the process performing any maintenance or draining any systems. Please check your buildings. Thank you Jeff Shearer
12/14/2006 - 12/22/2006 This memo is not for a leak. We are experiencing some operational issues that you may be able to help us with. The chilled water flow to campus is up approx 16~20% this winter over last. The chilled water flow last winter was approx 5100 gpm and is 6000 gpm this year. The additional flow is preventing us from securing the large turbine driven chiller and operating the more economical electrical chiller. In visiting with members of FPM there seems to be 3 possible situations that may be contributing to this issue. 1-unattended flow in a coil etc. 2- set point too low and the system is never satisfied thus flowing more chilled water than required. 3-Control applications where you are both cooling and heating adding a false load to the chilled water load. If you could please check your areas for any situations that may contribute to the problem noted we would appreciate it. Thank you, Mike McGraw. Note an earlier memo went out and had problems with the same information.
12/14/2006 - 12/14/2006 Test
12/4/2006 - 12/5/2006 The chilled water makeup is indicating a chilled water coil is leaking starting this morning at 7:00am. Thanks --Pat
8/21/2006 - 8/23/2006 Please check your buildings, the chilled water makeup went to zero on 8/21/2006. The chilled water supply pressure was increased above the system set point of 75 psi. This indicates that somewhere on the system the chilled water and the city water have become cross-connected. Please check your buildings for this condition. Thank you Mike McGraw
8/21/2006 - 8/21/2006 test only
4/7/2006 - 5/15/2006 The chilled water system is leaking at 6 gpm. Please check your system for open vents if you are filling or have filled your coils recently. Thanks Pat
