Chris, Jim and the Veenker Memorial Golf Course staff are back to offer an outstanding Junior Golf Program. This summer you have the option to sign up for either Wednesday or Thursday mornings. Due to the success of the program and the large number of kids we have in it, we will not be able to allow make up days on alternate days this year. The demands on the staff with extra kids are just too large and safety becomes an issue. The program will meet for 8 weeks beginning on June 18th or 19th and runs until August 14thth and 15th. We will not have sessions on July 16th and 17th due to tournament conflicts at the course. Each clinic begins at 8:00 a.m. and runs through 12:00 noon with a short intermission available around 10:00 to allow the student’s time to purchase any snacks and cool off on those steamy days. Juniors 10 and under will play 5 to 7 holes each week and receive instruction for their last 2 hours. Juniors 11 and over will receive instruction to start the day. They then have the opportunity to play 7-9 holes. If arrangements have been made with parents, they can play the full 9 holes and will finish sometime between 12:00 and 12:30. They will be welcome to stay in clubhouse until they are picked up.
These sessions are designed for boys and girls ages 8 – 13 who are interested in learning and enjoying the game of golf. Price of the program will be $150. This will include a year end picnic that will change to Sunday night, August 17th. More details on the picnic will come during the summer.
During instruction all aspects of the game will be covered including: etiquette, putting, chipping, pitching, sand shots, full swing irons, full swing woods, course management, and rules of the game.
Please fill out the registration form and return to the Veenker Memorial Golf Course clubhouse. Each day will be limited to 60 kids so sign up as soon as possible. If you should have additional questions, please contact us at 515-294-6727.
