The water temp goes above the set point and causes issues. Cleaver Brooks has responded that it is designed properly. Neither we nor T&S (which has followed up) agree. We need to find a workable solution for the steam condensate measurement system. We made a substantial investment in this system (incl electrical and BetaRaven programming) and need it running so Lexi can collect data to finish her M.S. Thesis research project. In our opinion, we need to add a bypass steam line (not a relief valve) that keeps steam pressure the same before and after the condensate measurement system without allowing condensate to flow through it. We think the way to do that is to add a parallel steam line that goes up perhaps 2-3 ft ahead of the high-level sensor (and after the closest steam trap) and reconnects to the high-pressure steam line below the condensate discharge valve. The key is for the line to go up first so that steam can follow that line while condensate keeps flowing into the measurement system line. This keeps the system closed, allows steam to bypass while condensate builds up, and will reunite condensate and steam after release to return to the feedwater tank. | Mickey McBride | Open |
