LIBRARY-0005A-414966-Node Room Transformer Repairs
Project Closeout
Room: 0005A
Request date: 1/7/2025
Requested by:
Contact: Mitchell Hlavacek
Construction start: 1/22/2025
Construction end: 5/5/2025
Description:
The transformer grounding in the “node room” in the library needs to be corrected. Sarah Jaeger, FP&M finance, asked us to charge the work to PG100343. Please initiate a new FP&M small project. You can make me the Lead Engineer and issue it to either Brady Streit or Mitch Hlavacek (per Mitch Hlavacek). Brady or Mitch will then complete the work as a small project “point and shoot” to the electrical contractor (Overton Electric) working on the main system grounding in the library.
I will get a quote from Overton Electric. I’m estimating it will be less than $5,000.
Project Description: Correct the grounding issue(s) on the transformer and panelboard in the Park’s Library “Node Room” (Room #0005A).
Building: Parks Library
Room Number: 0005A
Charge to: PG100343 (Building and Electrical Maintenance)
Requested by: Steve Larson, FP&M
Lead Engineer: Steve Larson
Project Construction Manager: Mitch Hlavacek or Brady Streit (???)
Details:
Correct the following grounding issues found on Transformer T2 and related panelboard in the IT Node Room #0005A in the Parks Library.
1. Add a #2 AWG insulated (green) bonding jumper between the “neutral lug” and “ground lug” in Transformer T2.
2. Add a #2 AWG insulated (green) bonding jumper between the “neutral lug” in Transformer T2 and the ground plate adjacent to Transformer T2. Use a Burndy YGHA2C-2N 2-hole compression ground terminal to bolt the ground wire to the ground plate.
3. Add a #6 (or #2) insulated (green) equipment grounding conductor in the conduit between Transformer T2 and the “Isolated Ground Bar” inside the related circuit breaker panelboard.
4. Remove any ground wires connected between the “neutral bus bar” and the “isolated ground bus bar” (or enclosure) inside the related circuit breaker panelboard.
Electrical contractor to provide all necessary lugs, wire, connectors, etc.. to complete the work.

LIBRARY-0031-411152-Move ITS Call Center from 0192 to 0031-0037
Cost Range Approval
Room: 0031
Request date: 12/20/2024
Requested by:
Contact: Denise Wulf
Construction start: 9/13/2025
Construction end: 3/14/2026
Description:
ITS will move their call center from Room 0192, downstairs to 0031/0037. They would like to model after the Foundation call center in Durham. They require 13 student workstations and 8 FT staff (one with more privacy). Noise and distraction are concerns to be addressed. There are desks that can be reused and incorporated into a panel surrounded layout. They would like to consider updated and dimmable lighting. Currently there is a "walk up" counter that would have to be replicated downstairs. Possibly with an overhead door like the tech lending area on 1st floor. There are large wall monitors (dashboards) to relocate or update along with whiteboards. The room would have to allow for a small break area, printers, 2 computers (to run the monitors) and storage. A stand-up collaboration area would be ideal in the center of the room. Room 0037 would require the door to be moved to access through 0031 instead of into the open stacks. Moving over summer is preferred. Worktag PG103008

Riser control valve labeling needs to be adjusted to reflect sprinkler system changes. Some of the building wet zones are now on the Tiers Riser, so "Tiers" and "Main Building" tables are no longer accurate. Labeling should be as clear an unambiguous possible.
