Current Projects in Parks Library

Please start a project request and direct it to Stephanie Hosier and Rebecca Cantrall. We want to replace the existing carrels on the 2nd and 3rd floor along the west wall and a few desks along the north wall in the 240 and 350 sections. This is part of the Carver Trust project. Please use PG103217 for the worktag.

This project will provide improvements to the second and third floors of Parks Library. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, removing and installing new carpet and base on the west side of the second and third floors, between the study carrels and bookstacks only. The west walls at the study carrels on both floors will be painted. Furniture will include 40 study carrels, lounge furniture and a table on the third floor, 15 desks, 55 chairs, and other miscellaneous items. The electrical scope includes relamping the lights above the study carrels on the west side of the second and third floors, as well as installing 8 Thread power hubs.

This project will improve the temperature and humidity in the film vault to maintain 60F and 45-50% relative humidity. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, removing gypsum board from the north wall, installing batt insulation, and replacing gypsum board, as well as the installation of a new dehumidifier for room 0005, installation of electrical, chilled water piping, and HVAC as required for the new dehumidifier.
