About 8-10yrs ago Nelson Construction was hired to build the 3rd Phase of our Alumni Donor wall on the east side of the building along the A2 parking lot. Lately we have had front edge limestone pieces that are adhered on and a few are coming loose so the adhesive is failing. One piece was glued back on last week by Country Landscapes but in the process it cracked in a couple spots and they don't necessarily want to be fixing these moving forward. I was hoping we could get a couple of these pieces from Nelson Construction or somewhere else to match and that way we have a spare piece or two plus I would like to replace the one that is cracked now as it doesn't look great. In the spring I would like to take a look at all of our downspouts coming off the roof of the boardroom and ballroom on the west side of the building. When I was cleaning them out this fall I noticed some joints where the caulking is wearing out or in some places completely gone and this might be contributing to some leaking we've had inside the building when we get hard rain. At least one drain is missing some metal flashing to direct the water away from the building that I would like to repair/replace as well. **This can be on hold until Spring. I just wanted to get a project opened so we can get on it first thing after winter.** Thanks!

Tammy Hansen, Interim Accounts Receivable Director, has developed a proposal to move the ISU Card Office operations into the Accounts Receivable suite (0880 Beardshear) and repurpose the existing space in the ISU Card Office (0530 Beardshear) to provide two offices and hoteling space for the Accounts Receivable Accounting Team. This would align all student facing customer service positions within one shared space. Building wide HVAC study. We would like to reopen the discussion about placing a soda kiln on the patio outside of room 0038 design. The kiln is here now so we have a better idea about what to expect. Last year the FCU in this room was replaced, since then faculty teaching have complained that the room is too loud to teach in. So the unit has been turned off. Is there a way to add a rheostat to the unit to make the blower less loud? Or is there an option to change the controls to have the unit cycle on and off with the thermostat?

College of Design Reading Room (111) and miscellaneous first floor office space (158, 158A) In fall 2023, we had engaged the services of an architecture firm, DLR, to help us understand the potential scope of this project. This project scope is limited to interior remodeling on our first floor of the College of Design. In particular the scope includes the remodeling of critical spaces for our ongoing operations and course work. The biggest project is the remodeling the former "Reading Room" space (Parks Library is shutting down operations and moving stacks out of the space) into design studios/classrooms. The first phase of this project will not involve any major demolition, extensive interior partitions, or changes in lighting, electrical, HVAC, sprinkler, or plumbing. It will simply involve new furniture, finishes, and AV installations which we can accomplish working directly with FPM. Eventually, we may have more extensive remodeling, based on what we identify as our long term use needs for this space--again, with the assistance of an architectural firm. There are other smaller miscellaneous interior remodeling projects to support our ongoing recruitment efforts (e.g., convert existing mailroom to open space space/waiting space for visitors, relocating mailroom elsewhere). Minimal changes in interior partitions and doors are necessary but not HVAC, electrical, sprinkler, etc. This will not require architectural services outside of the scope that FPM can provide. Schedule Considerations The ideal schedule for our Reading Room project m! ay not be possible--it depends, in part, on the timing of when Library will have all items moved out of our Reading room space (Room 111). Ideally if they move out by May, we can begin spending some of these funds towards the immediate reconfiguring of the space for our first phase of work. Add a new IT “pod” that needs dedicated cooling. Data center staff has designed a new pod layout to support high end research equipment. The pod will need a dedicated cooling system to manage the heat load created by the equipment. We need to install ACRC301S in row coolers that will connect back to the CDU. The CDU will need to be connected into the chilled water loops that support the data center. The CDU will connect to the in row with PEX pipe. Equipment has not been purchased yet as we need to confirm with the chilled water techs that we can install this system as we have designed. New flooring, paint, (potentially) lighting, and new furniture aside from the items we repurpose from Kingland.

We would like to get a budget estimate to outfit this space with Gunlocke (or similar) furniture like what is in the Dean's offices (2205, 2209, 2211). We previously started a project for this room with Leigh Wiand, and then scrapped the plans.

We have two offices on 3rd floor (3155 and 3361) that we would like to remove the roll carpet and baseboard, and replace with carpet squares and new cove base. We have plenty of squares and base on hand, but need a contractor to remove, install, and they would need to bring glue. The occupants of these two offices are serving in interim roles, and have other offices to work from while this work is being completed.

We would like to get costs and drawings to purchase 7ft cubicle walls + locking doors for the following spaces on 3rd floor Gerdin: 3151, 3252, 3324. Pre-addition, we had the same sort of set up in these locations, but took down the walls and they are being used elsewhere now.

Occupants are in need of standing desks - please help to purchase standing desks for the following rooms: 1608B & 1608C.

1. We are hoping to have a small air compressor and air dryer installed in 0500 Office and Lab. 2. There are copper air lines from 0500 O&L into 1708 Gilman. There is currently nothing connected on either end. 3. I am hoping to extend the copper tubing from 1708 into 1702 to connect to an existing pressure manifold to service an instrument. 4. I have attached an approximate diagram. In addition to the extension, a hole may need to be punched or expanded in the wall between 1702&1708. There are existing holes to accommodate radiator plumbing and some other utilities. 5. There are large, unshielded superconducting magnets in these rooms, so minimal metal equipment can be present in some places close to the work sites, and FP&M staff will need to consult with CIF staff regarding laboratory/magnet safety requirements when completing the work. Metal tools and soldering/sweating equipment is ok to use, but must be carefully placed where it is not too close to strong magnetic fields.

We need to figure out how to get 2 new 75HP (SFA17A and SFA17B) motors for AHU17 into mechanical room 4055. Scott Nibe and Don Gregory can install once motors are in the room and can take out old motors in pieces. These motors will weigh roughly 900lbs. We have one motor in Chem Waste Storage that will be used. The other motor needed can be supplied through Reese Electric. Please talk with Scott and Don about motor specs and ordering.

We are looking at updating our reception space in the main SAS office and wanted an opinion about what options there were for the space. Ideally, we would like to reuse most of the front desk, remove the unused section by the big windows, and add privacy pieces to the desk to hide the cords. We would also like to move the desk to the other side of the room, but it is a wired-in desk. We think the entire process would include repainting one of the walls, adding a decal to the wall, taking apart and moving the reception desk and wiring it in a different spot, getting additional privacy desk pieces, and potentially replacing the carpet as it may be unusable under the desk (but we are not sure).

Original WO#303474. The 1st and 2nd-floor men's restrooms in Hoover have issues with the way the urinal plumbing is configured. If all three urinals are flushed at approximately the same time, the lowest urinal backs up due to water from the other two flowing downhill into that urinal. Basically the other two urinals have their output tied together, which connects to the output from the lowest urinal, and the combined flow is then wyed into the drain line. This configuration causes the lowest urinal to overflow each time this synchronized flushing occurs, and there is always water from the urinal on the floor in these two men's restrooms now that classes are in session. Rotorooting the lowest urinal has been the thing done in the past, but changing the plumbing so the higher two urinals don't feed together into the output from the lowest urinal would be the only permanent fix that I can see. If there were separate connections from the higher two urinals to the main drain line that were slightl! y downstream from where the lowest urinal connects to the drainline, it should prevent the water from backflowing into the lowest urinal.

We would like to conduct an experiment to lessen the noise between faculty offices. Before insulating all the offices, we'd like to insure this will fix the noise issue by having insulation blown in to 1 wall between office 2345 and 2343, If the holes are drilled near the ceiling, the insulation will be able to settle and still be a good barrier. Also, by making the holes up very high, less cosmetic work will be necessary due to existing drop ceiling. We are interested in the noise lessening but also doing this as economically as possible.

This project removes and replaces bike parking near the Hub.

Roof repairs due to recent tree damage. Scope includes structural engineering. Initially, Mark Huss and Nate Graves will be coordinating this work.

Recreation Service would like a study conducted to renovate the Resident Hall TOWERS tennis and basketball courts. There are currently 3 abandon tennis courts and to the south were multiple basketball hoops. We are looking at both locations to renovate into tennis/pickleball and basketball. The surface needs to be examined to see if it is suitable to resurface or if a new surface would be required. Our hope is that they both can be used and resurfaced. Resurfacing needs to accommodate tennis/pickleball. The design needs to accommodate tennis first, then incorporate pickleball as much as possible into the design. As many pickleball courts as possible should be laid out. Basketball will be around the perimeter . Tennis nets/poles need to be included. Additional pickleball nets/poles may be needed. Adjustable basketball hoops need to add. The perimeter should be 15-20' high netting (NOT CHAIN LINK FENCE). Relocate LED lights (4 poles worth) from Forker Tennis to the north 3 tennis courts at the Towers location. Alternate 1 would be lights on the south Towers area. Include cost as an alternate to demo the current Forker Tennis courts and restore to a grass space.

Please update two exterior monument signs at Ames Intermodal Facility. The revisions are: fabricate new sign panels, without “BURLINGTON TRAILWAYS”, and move “EXECUTIVE EXPRESS” up. The signs are slightly different. One has push through lettering, the other does not. Both signs have cut out letters, are double sided and have lighting. The Hayward Ave sign (main sign, photo below) – see attached shop drawing for this sign. The aluminum panel is 94”W x 22”H x 0.125” Paint: Matthews Satin Aluminum 4” letters cut out. The Sheldon Ave sign – we do not have shop drawing for this sign, assume it’s the same text style and panel thickness as above. Kildee condensate system needs to be evlauated and redesigned. There are system failures caused by improper designinstallation.

We would like to have the Engineering Team review the recently installed PRV for code compliance and safety in the mechanical room and develop a detailed plan to correct any deficiencies found that could be either shared with a contractors or in-house staff. An engineering probable cost estimated would be greatly appreciated.

High Priority - This came from FPM Building Maintenance Kildee Hall - Mechanical Room 0026 - Center floor drain is plugged and needs cleaned out with drain cleaning machine/snake. Drain issue that needs to be turned into a project. We are unable to clear this drain and when we plunge it water comes up around electrical conduits in the vicinity. This leads us to believe that we have a deteriorated pipe under the concrete. This will require a plumbing contractor that has the capability to demo concrete, make the repairs, and replace the concrete. Ben Adams has extensive knowledge about this problem and claims that it has been turned in as a project before.

Sending to the Projects Desk - Beyond the scope of the Shops. We would like have someone out to take a look at windows around the roof line. They use to be operated by a switch on the wall. The system had issues before and fpm took out the switch to control them. We are receiving complaints that kp is too now since we cant open them. So we would like to know what needs to happen to make them operational again.

We would like to replace desks and chairs in this room. Desks: 54"x30" height adjustable (manual) with butcher block tops. A student submitted a report to our office about incorrect braille signs in Lagomarchino. She shared that the floor signs have inaccurate braille on them and included a photo of the first floor sign. I do not have further information or knowledge about whether there were concerns about other signs or where exactly this sign is located in Lagomarcino.

We have a new faculty member, Han Na Lee, starting in Psychology this fall and we would like estimates to update/renovate a room in Lagomarcino Hall. Han Na will be in town on May 6 and available any time that day to be present for looking at spaces. The room to be updated is Lago 2311 (Office space).

FPM, Brandon Bartleson worked on this in Mid July and patched the exterior wall but this is still leaking. 293958 was the original work request that has already been closed out. Please look into this farther. Below the two large skylights in the SE corner of 002, and in the SE corner of the study rooms 003 and 004 after a rain the carpet is always wet from the wall to about 2' out. The wall is not visibly wet or dripping when this happens. We have had issue before judging by the peeling paint and multiple caulking jobs to the glass. This seems to be a foundation issue that needs to be addressed. Area is close to storm drain that has issues holding water or being clogged. See Justin Nolting or Shane Baumler for more information.

Parks Library Rm M0092C Provide hydraulic calculation plate for west riser (1980s) design area at the bottom of the riser in room M0092C. This is a result of 2024 Fire Marshall Inspection

Parks Library, Rm M0092C Riser control valve labeling needs to be adjusted to reflect sprinkler system changes. Some of the building wet zones are now on the Tiers Riser, so "Tiers" and "Main Building" tables are no longer accurate. Labeling should be as clear an unambiguous possible.

Bruce Bonestroo and John Byerly are familiar with this request. Lied Rec Center has foundation settling issues an they have reoccurred. Rec Services needs to have this reviewed and determine a corrective course of action. This will involve structures engineers and possibly civil engineers for the study.

Rec Services would like to retro fit the current Lied field lights which are metal halide to LED. We want the same MUSCO fixtures and components that we currently have at MWL and SE Rec Complex along with Control Link associated with it. This will allow all our outdoor fields to be on the same program and have the same lighting attributes. See attached documents from MUSCO.

Relocate the two far east scoreboards at the MWL Rec fields to the Lied Soccer fields. (North End) Run electrical to the scoreboards that got relocated. I have quotes for the relocation and the demo from NGE. See attached. We would like this done by fall. Any questions contact Brent at 294-4247.

Repair/replacement of the DMU infill and flashing a the top of the exterior wall on the west sided of the training room. 2. Trees need to be removed and replaced with lesser invasive vegetation to minimize roots from removing moisture from under the foundation.

Frames must be able to withstand slab movement without affecting the function of the doors. Block walls need to be replaced with light weight metal framing and wallboard. Converting to Lx Project. Lights will not turn off. Watt Stopper Lighting Panel: RU-SW fed from Electrical Panel: LSW, CIR: 26. All lighting fed from RU-SW will not turn off with light switch nor manually with any switches inside of panel RU-SW. RU-SW has appropriate voltage and circuit board LED shows power is on. After cycling power off/on to RU-SW problem persists with no changes.

Improving signage for the Lloyd veterinary medical center 1. the signs along the right hand side of Riverside Drive-the first sign displaying where to turn for small animal hospital is located too close to the entry of the employee parking lot leading to a number of client complaints that the signs are not clear - is it possible to move this sign further up riverside drive closer to the turn to enter the main small animal entrance/client parking? 2. I would like to add a lighted sign to the canopy over the entrance to the small animal hospital. The lighted sign would be similar to the lighted red and white plus sign on S. 16th Street. It would be a square, lighted with the red Plus and white background to better identify for owners in an emergency situation where to go.

We would like to have rooms 1884 and 1880 evaluated to modify the spaces into one room to house a resident blood donor cat colony. There are requirements to have a certain level of ventilation, at least one large viewing window (preferably 2) and a door to an ante room prior to entering a door into the housing area to prevent escape. In the ante room we would like to have cabinets (hopefully reuse the ones currently in the area) and a sink. I can attach pictures of the current area to this request.

Due to the increased demand for desk space for VDPAM graduate assistants we would like to convert 2424 Lloyd from a single faculty office to a graduate office with 5 desk spaces. This office will be configured/set up like our previous project in 2428 Lloyd.

The entrance signs at some of the parking lots that are starting to look ratty need a redo and the texts need to be made bigger so easier to read. We do know lot 5 and lot 45 need update. Pearson & Marston: Various Drainage Improvements MIC Approved $65,000 FY24

We are interested in purchasing a couch for our main office reception area. We are also interested in artwork above the couch.

We are looking to repurpose Marston 3300 into a computer classroom. I would love to get some floorplans with possible seating arrangements for this space with priority on maximum seating capacity. My rough estimate would be to have 3-4 rows of tables with computers facing the two exit doors. There is no power/network in the center of the room however, so that will need to be added somehow. Rm 4558 - This is currently a space for multiple grad students. It needs to be converted into a staff office. Desk needs to be extension to match other staff L-shaped desks. Rm 4567E - Additional locked cabinets are needed to store documents. Cabinets may not be located in this area but need to be easily accessible for staff and students working at the front desk.

This is a request for an extension of the current hoist system track from the ceiling in the loading dock (Rm. 1674). Bringing in lab equip: Mass Spec/HPLC system. Requesting electrical upgrade: 208-volt, 30-amp twist-lock outlet installed. It also needs: -230 V AC, 50/60 Hz, single phase outlet for the mass spec and forepump portions -The manual state that line voltages can vary between 207 AC – 253 AC, and that the power cord of the instrument needs to be connected to a wall receptacle that’s fused with 15 A or 16 A. -There’s a note in the manual about customers in North America that recommends that a buck/boost transformer be used to ensure that the power is in the right parameters at all times, and state that it needs a dedicated single phase 30 amp 208V AC power line with a good earth ground that terminates in a NEMA L6-30R receptacle within 6 feet of the instrument location. -The mass spec and vacuum/forepump need to be connected by a large tube 2” in diameter to get the right vacuum, and it needs to be under the mass spec location. The LC is easier, it needs 230 V AC or 120 V AC, 50/60 Hz. EDIT: another side note: the mass spec’s forepump needs to be connected to a fume exhaust system with some specific connections: -The exhaust port of the rotary pump needs to be connected to an exhaust gas line leading out of the building OR exhaust system. -The inner diameter of the pipe should be at least 1 in. An exhaust hose for connecting the forepump to the exhaust system comes with the system and is 16 ft long. It has dimensions of ½ in ID and 25/32 in OD. The exhaust system for the forepump must be able to accommodate an initial inrush flow rate of 3 L/min, and a continuous flow rate of 1 L/min. -The exhaust tubing should not be routed from the pump vertically towards the ceiling, the tubing needs to be routed from the exhaust port down the floor. -The exhaust hose should travel at floor level for 78.5 in before it reaches the external exhaust system. The tubing acts as a trap for exhaust fumes that would otherwise recondense in the forepump oil. Other notes to add: -They recommends connecting it to a UPS if power supply is unstable

Remove both doors to 2531 hallway and the walls they are in; creating a wider more obvious flow of traffic. One wall, near the receptionist, is drywall. It has a blank cover plate over what might have been a light switch on the reception side. The other end of this short hallway is a block wall. remove the block and install bull nose bock on both left and right edges. The block will have to be removed all the way to deck above as there is a jog in the wall that is being removed. That is the 18" wide side of the door. The other side of the door that portion is the correct location. A drywall bulkhead may be necessary here due to the ceilings and the jog in the wall being removed. This will also require floor patching. There is a light switch in the block wall on the interior of the hallway that can be relocated to the adjacent drywall. surface.

Renovation of this general university classroom to become an Active Learning Classroom. We were informed that the gate in this room cannot be locked for fire safety. We propose removing the lock into 57A, placing a lock on the gate, and updating the exit sign to point someone who got locked in to use the planetarium back exit. Craig Abel and Keith Bidne with the USDA/ARS are looking to replace the cage washer that is currently in 612 Science 2. They have a couple of questions about the existing infrastructure before they actually get the new (custom) one ordered. 1. It looks like the current electrical system is set up for 220v, but the new one requires 480v. Can FP&M install that in Science 2? What would that take? 2. The new washer will need 60# of steam pressure to operate. Science 2 is currently set at 30#. Can we safely boost the current setting to 60#? 3. Is it possible to get the floor cleaned and an epoxy coating put in before the new installation? Is that something FP&M does? 4. Does FP&M check the existing vent, damper, and motor for the exhaust? It has not been operational for quite some time. 5. Is there a schematic of the room somewhere to forward to the company ? (electrical, plumbing, etc.) 6. Can we have the drain pipes and floor drains inspected/repaired? 7. Where would we put the old pieces of the washer after demo while we are waiting on the new one? We have had multiple complaints of excessive noise from the air ducts in both room 1133 and 1118 in SICTR. Both rooms can get noisy enough people cannot hear each other without yelling when the air is flowing. Neither room has a false ceiling and if a wrap or padding added to the ducts in the rooms would not mitigate the noise level, it will likely require a barrier be added between the occupied area of the room and the duct work above. SICTR 3121 open study space is currently getting a door installed and will be re-designated 3112 AI Innovation Studio. We have two new art pieces on the 4th floor of the Student Innovation Center outside of our CALS rooms SICTR 4227 & 4229 that need to be cleaned once every Fall and Spring semester, for a total of twice a year. The art pieces include: a wall mural outside of these rooms and a been/pollen ceiling pendant light fixture around the corner of these rooms. We are looking for soft-sided furniture for the Margaret Sloss Center front lounge space where the 'kid's corner' is located. This furniture would be appropriate for the kids that come into the space, but also is sufficient to support adults, during times when the space is busier with students and no children are present. Specifically, we are looking at the soft-sided furniture from the Steelcase B-Free lounge series, with 2 or 3 small cubes (in yellow) surrounding the red Alight round ottoman.

John Byerly is familiar with this request. At the State Gym expansion there is what we believe is a condensation/freezing issue where the pool ceiling/roof meets the dry part of the building. This results in a "leak" when the frozen condensation melts and it is a significant amount. Part of this may involve removing some of the wall panels, looking at insulation, roofing and air flow.

CO2 Tank. Eyewash station in 0209 Sukup needs attention. It takes abnormally long to clear rust particles during the monthly flushing. It is getting worse overtime. At its current condition, it probably requires daily flushing to keep the water clear of contaminants. I believe we need to install a water filter for that specific station. That station situates at the bottom of a straight pipe that connect eyewash stations on the upper floors. Sediments settle to the bottom which is the inlet for that particular station. Frequent flushing is not a long term solution. We need FP M help to install the filter or discuss options to fix the problem.

I need to have a 208V ~40 amp outlet installed for soil bin to power a frequency drive that runs a tiller motor. If needed for timing reason we could use Jaspering Electric (let me know if that would be okay) Ideally getting this done before the semester start is rather a tight timeline!

Percival came in a few years ago and converted it from Bio-cold to a new Percival controller and ever since we have had consistent issues with the room not defrosting properly and causing ice buildup that is damaging the equipment and the research stored inside. We need a different solution than just defrosting it and replacing the drain pan once or twice a year. Percival has been back multiple times and the situation has not changed.

Relocate the two scoreboards on the west side of MWL playfields out to the SW complex. One to the softball field and one to the baseball field. New Exterior Building Sign at Transportation Services

The upholstery on the backs of the chairs in the lobby has become very worn. The new upholstery - fabric or vinyl, needs to be very durable. Material with a variety of color would be nice. There are 24 seat backs that are in need of re-upholstery. I have visited with Rebecca about this project and am okay with the Intern working on this request, as I know how busy everyone is and this is not a rush project. Thank you! Katie B.

Engineering review of the Domestic Water Heater and associated piping in Troxel for Code Compliance and safety. Mike McCoy, is familiar with some of the issues and I would like to have him take a closer look, develop a scope of work and cost range to bring this system into code and safety compliance to ISU standards. This request is for concrete floor and wall modifications to the LAR Building 40 and LAR Central animal facility cage washer rooms to install a new cage washer in each facility. We have accepted the purchase bid for the cage washers and ASAP we need to have a contractor assess the concrete work needed done to accommodate the installation of larger replacement cage washer units. I recommend that we contact Story Construction for this assessment, estimate, and work. One of the cage washer vendors, that did not receive our bid, had Story Construction do this assessment and cost estimate for them as part of their bid so I know that Story Construction is familiar with what will need done and is capable of performing the work. After speaking with Eric Ohrt, we would like to have an architect come out and meet with our carpenter to discuss the need to open up a ceiling in this space to make room for lab equipment that needs connection tubing to go into the top of the unit that is taller than the current ceiling allows. Our carpenter has an idea that he would like to discuss with the ISU architect. This does not affect the floor above in anyway.

I need project coordination help with ISU FPM for replacing the Helium bag in the basement of Zaffarano for Ames Lab. Project includes soldering and brazing, so we will need help getting hot work permits and fire alarm shutdowns

The Ames Laboratory is installing a new liquefiere in the Low Temperature Lab in Zaffarano A0102. We will have to widen the doorway between A0108 and A0102 to install this new equipment. I would like to work with FPM Projects and Design team on this. We have met with Eric Ohrt and Travis Applegate on this recently. This project is urgent. A top priority for the laboratory.
