Ahoy Receives IRPE Commitment Award

On September 26, 2006, at the noon luncheon for Bridges of Excellence Conference held at the Scheman Building, Iowa State University, Christopher Ahoy, Associate Vice President for Facilities, received the "2006 IRPE Examiner Commitment Award" on behalf of Iowa State University Facilities Planning and Management in appreciation for providing leadership for the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence 2006 Process. The award was presented by Mike Langridge, IRPE Program Director for the Iowa Quality Center, for their Iowa Recognition Performance Excellence (IRPE) Program.

Chris has been a State Baldrige IRPE examiner for the past seven years, and was appointed as a member of the 2006 National Baldrige Board of Examiner. Each year, he has encouraged one to two members of our staff to become examiners. This year FPM had the largest number of examiners participating in the examination process (9). Participating FPM examiners include Chris Ahoy, Dave Ballard, Don Chrusciel, Bob Currie, Kelly McCool, Mark Nelson, Clark Thompson, Mike McGraw, and Jim Ziebold. Our 2006 support exceeded any other organization in the number of examiners that have been participating in the State Baldrige Program. FPM has provided support and commitment to the IRPE program since its inception at the State of Iowa level in 1999.

This is the second time FPM has received this award. The first time was in 2004, when the award was implemented.
