ISU FPM Wins IRPE Silver Achievement

On November 17, 2006, Associate Vice President Chris Ahoy received the phone message that Iowa State University Facilities Planning and Management was awarded the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence Silver achievement award.

IRPE Silver Trophy

This award recognizes the ongoing efforts of the FPM organization in realizing its purpose of developing, operating, and maintaining facilities to serve the University community. It also serves to endorse the efforts of the organization on its quest to achieve the vision of becoming world-class. All FPM staff can take pride in this achievement.

The Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence (IRPE) is an assessment process based on a fifty page application telling the FPM story along with a site visit by a review team to examine the practices utilized by the FPM organization. Over the past years, FPM as been an active participant in not only applying for the review, but also providing a large number of staff as volunteers to be examiners for other IRPE participants. FPM also received the 2004 and 2006 IRPE Leadership commitment award.

FPM and other award recipients were formally recognized on February 22, 2007 at the Hy-Vee Center in West Des Moines.

FPM Delegation

This is FPM's second Silver Achievement award. In 2006, the organization sent a delegation back in March of this year to represent and receive the IRPE 2005 Silver Achievement award in recognition of FPM's best practices. This is the third award in a row from IRPE since gaining the Bronze Achievement in 2004.
